Aspen / Snowmass / Basalt
Private dinners and chef demos for your Aspen or Snowmass visit, plus private jet dining focused on Rifle and Eagle / Vail. Chef Chris Mitchum brings four decades of culinary experience and sommelier training.
An Aspen private chef can handle one dinner, selected meals across a stay, or a larger gathering. The right fit depends on dates, party size, location, kitchen, dietary needs, service style, and budget.
Plan the stay, then plan the plate.
Most people do not need more menu adjectives. They need to know which meals matter, what can be handled, and what has to be decided before arrival.
Before arrival
Confirm dates, address, access, group size, dietary needs, kitchen basics, and the meals worth solving in advance.
First night
Choose a simple arrival plan or a private dinner based on travel timing, energy, and how the group wants to gather.
During the stay
Use selected meals to reduce grocery runs, restaurant logistics, and repeated decisions without over-scheduling the trip.
The table
Shape the dinner around the people, the home, the occasion, and the pace of the evening.

Share the property and your plans. Chris can discuss the menu, kitchen, access, and service timing before your group arrives.
Start with the address, dates, transportation plan, kitchen, guest count, and whether the dinner has to fit around skiing, events, children, or a later arrival.
Snowmass planning begins with property access, arrival timing, parking and loading, grocery logistics, kitchen conditions, and the distance between the slopes and dinner.
What does a private chef cost in Aspen?
One in-home dinner, several meals during a stay, and staffed event service are different purchases. A responsible quote starts with the scope rather than a borrowed market average.
Ask for a current quote. Confirm the menu, staffing, tableware, wine arrangements, travel, and payment terms for your dates.
Answers before the inquiry
A few details about the group and the property help Chris plan the experience.
Chris’s current four-course dinner menu includes a reception selection, at least one server, china, glassware, silverware, linens, and cleanup. Confirm the final menu, quote, and arrangements for your date.
Inquire when you have dates in mind. Availability and preparation time depend on the service, menu, group size, and property. Ask Chris to confirm the timing for your request.
Share the address, appliances, cookware, refrigeration, work space, access instructions, and parking or loading limits. Chris can discuss what the kitchen provides and what the service needs.
Share dietary restrictions and allergies before choosing a menu. Chris will discuss ingredients, substitutions, and whether the request can be accommodated.
A private dinner centers on a meal cooked and served in the home. Prepared meals provide food without live dinner service. Chef demos combine teaching and tasting. Discuss your occasion and group size to choose the fit.
Discuss wine preferences with Chris while planning the menu. Pairings and tastings are optional. Confirm purchasing, delivery, service, and costs as part of your proposal.

He was thorough with details and questions from the outset, ensuring that every aspect of the event was carefully planned and executed. He took the time to participate in a pre-event walkthrough, which demonstrated his professionalism and commitment to a successful event. Throughout the event, Chris was efficient with his time, extremely organized, and easy to collaborate with. His preparation and attention to detail made the entire process seamless for our team. I would not hesitate to work with him again and would highly recommend his services to others looking for a reliable and professional culinary partner.”
